Our mission

In healthcare technology there is the notion that you need to change yourself in some way, whether it be losing weight or re-wiring yourself to optimize who you are and more. We believe in building holistic wellness technology that is not about taking advantage of the insecurities of people, but rather on empowering individuals with the right connections and people to help build your community to frame the vision for living your best life.

As individuals, connection and positive wellbeing are core to our needs to be able to be happy and live successful lives. We help those navigating life's challenges find the individualized support and resources they deserve, empowering both clients and the businesses that serve them to thrive and succeed together.

Our story

Our founder, Norin Lavaee, began Leah with the desire to make wellness and health accessible, affordable, and connected for all. She was inspired by her own journey with anxiety, depression, and binge eating disorder. As she started to look for options on how to feel better, she looked into technology solutions because of her own background in tech. She was disappointed to see most of the tech health products and services around her were focused on fixing something broken within her and instant gratification that often aggravated her symptoms.

What actually changed her life was a community of wellness professionals ranging from coaches, therapists, fitness instructors, and dietitians that were individuals in her life that helped her. This motivated her to build Leah.

Norin has worked at Microsoft, Cisco, and Cloudbeds as a Product Manager. She’s successfully launched products and features across cross-functional teams for a billion users worldwide. She is also a registered yoga teacher (RYT 200) and host of the popular Tech & Wellness podcast, Technically Well.

Our CTO, Shahd Nara, embarked on a courageous journey, leaving her homeland at the age of 18 to pursue her dreams in the US. Despite the challenges of coming from an Arabic society where women in tech were a rarity, her unwavering passion for technology led her to graduate from Harvard University with a degree in Computer Science.

Currently, Shahd is a software engineer at Microsoft, focusing on machine learning and AI in cybersecurity. Prior to that, she was a CTO at both Genyses - an NFT cryptocurrency startup, and Carbin - an eco-friendly startup based at MIT.
